Carmina Ravanera is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Gender and the Economy at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

Carmina is a researcher, writer, and editor focused on gender and race, social justice, and human rights. Prior to joining the Institute for Gender and the Economy, she was an analytics manager at the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion, working with organizations across Canada on equity and inclusion policies. She also led projects analyzing diversity and inclusion issues in Canada’s legal sector. Previously, Carmina held research and writing roles at the London School of Economics and Western University, and worked in international development organizations in India and the Philippines. Carmina holds a master’s degree in Gender, Development and Globalization from the London School of Economics, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Development from McGill University. In university, her research focused on violence against Indigenous women, as well as women’s economic empowerment in rural India.
